Frequently Asked Questions

Many people worry that what they're experiencing isn't "serious enough" or that they should be able to handle it on their own.
You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. You also don't need to have a clear explanation for what's wrong.
Sometimes people come to therapy because they're feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected. Other times, there's no clear explanation, just a sense that something doesn't feel quite right.
Part of the process is creating space to explore and make sense of what's been feeling difficult together. -
That's completely okay! Many of the people I work with are coming to therapy for the first time.
It's normal to feel nervous or unsure, and you don't need to know what to say or how therapy is supposed to work. I'll help guide you through the process, and we'll take some time to get to know each other, talk about what's been going on, and explore what you'd like support with. You are more than welcome to ask questions along the way and we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. -
You don’t have to know right away and I encourage you to take your time.
Finding the right therapist is often about whether you feel comfortable, understood, and that you feel we can work together in a way that feels helpful to you. Our consultation or first session is an opportunity for both of us to see whether it feels like the right fit, and if not, there are zero hard feelings on my end! I'd be more than happy to help connect you with someone who may be a better match. -
During the consultation, you can expect a warm and guided conversation to briefly discuss what has been bringing you to therapy and explore whether I may be a good fit for your needs.
You're also welcome to ask any questions you have about therapy in general or working with me.
There is absolutely no pressure to move forward afterward.

At this time, I offer virtual therapy only.
Sessions take place through a secure video platform, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

Yes! In addition to clients located in Ontario, I may also be able to provide virtual therapy to clients in certain other Canadian provinces and territories, depending on local regulations and professional requirements.
If you're located outside Ontario, please feel free to reach out before booking and I'd be happy to confirm whether I'm able to work with you based on your location.

Many extended health benefit plans provide coverage for services offered by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).
Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend checking directly with your insurance provider to confirm your benefits.
I currently offer direct billing for GreenShield and SunLife. For other insurance providers, receipts will be provided for reimbursement.
